Client Spotlight: A Look Into Our Partnerships

FlowCARE is a provider of medical storage solutions dedicated to streamlining the healthcare industry. At FlowCARE, we believe that patient care should be at the heart of any hospital. That’s why we’ve developed our patented nurse servers, which enable health care professionals to spend less time locating supplies and more time with their patients.

Over the years, we have had many successful partnerships, so take a look at some of our latest projects to see how FlowCARE nurse servers have made a difference in the healthcare industry.

University of Wisconsin Health

UW Health, located in Madison, Wisconsin, is the integrated health system of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As Wisconsin looked to renovate one of its hospitals over a five-year period, we worked with the hospital’s staff to create designs and prototypes for nurse servers that would improve their storage systems.

The project manager behind UW Health’s design construction wanted FlowCARE to customize a solution that would allow for efficiency in medical storage while still being flexible enough to evolve with the hospital’s needs in two to three decades. FlowCARE then began working with the hospital staff to build a working model of the nurse server storage system. Over the next year, staff members used the model and suggested changes to create a storage system that best met their needs.

At the end of 2018, after a full year of testing and improving, UW Health officials said: “Don’t change a thing.” In the end, FlowCARE was able to design a storage system for UW Health that aligned with their current needs while being flexible enough to meet future demands as well. Thanks to FlowCARE’s partnership with UW Health, the hospital was able to reimagine its storage solutions, and enhance its facilities through better medical storage systems.

Main Takeaway: Through a collaborative and iterative process, FlowCARE built a customized storage solution for UW Health that has helped them improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their medical storage for decades to come.

University of Pennsylvania Health

The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania was working on the design for its new hospital facility, The Pavilion. The PennFIRST team reached out to FlowCARE in Fall 2018, asking us to explore and create design options for nurse servers that would be placed within the Pavilion.

We worked to create different designs that included the standard features of our patented nurse servers while engineering their exteriors with high-pressure laminate and hi-macs solid surfaces. Eventually, the PennFIRST team hired a local contractor to assist with the project, and over the course of nine months, we worked with them to create a FlowCARE nurse server insert that would create the efficiencies that PennFIRST sought. After several prototypes were tried and tested, a final design was reached in November 2019.

Thanks to FlowCARE, the University of Pennsylvania’s Pavilion has created a storage system that puts patients first all while creating a flexible space that can keep up with the ever-changing nature of healthcare.

Main Takeaway: Working with a contracted manufacturer, we were able to provide the highest quality of medical storage while providing an effective, adaptable storage system for the Pavillion.

Brookings Health System

When the Brookings Hospital was initially designed, its main goal was to design around the patient, with a close second being the optimization of materials and supplies.

After Brookings Hospital contacted us, we began analyzing the current state of their storage systems, taking into account which medical supplies were used often in a day-to-day process. After we determined what items were used most frequently, we stocked those in our nurse servers, then did the same for all departments to ensure standardization. The main reason for standardizing storage was to make it easier for healthcare workers to find what they’re searching for, saving them time they can use to focus on their patients.

Ultimately, we were able to help Brookings Hospital by providing them with comprehensive planning and audit work, as well as storage solutions that allowed them to overcome their challenges to achieve their goal putting their patients first.

Main Takeaway: By providing a one-stop-shop for observing, analyzing and finalizing solutions, FlowCARE helped Brookings Hospital save time and improve efficiency by seamlessly integrating our nurse server storage systems.
