Thoughtful and Functional Hospital Casework Design
At Flowcare, we understand the value of thoughtful and functional hospital casework design. From patient rooms to nurse reception areas and pharmacy design, our goal is to create spaces that are both comfortable and efficient. We don’t just deliver great casework design solutions – we take the time to listen to your needs and create a hospital environment that suits your unique needs.
Nurse Reception
A well-designed and maintained nurse reception area can set the tone for a patient’s entire experience at your hospital. Beyond beauty, design should also control cross-contamination and manage traffic flow.
Bacteria, viruses, mold, and mildew will all be killed or slowed in their progression by our antimicrobial coating. These surfaces offer non-porous, easy-to-clean materials that will withstand new cleaning protocols. Our long-lasting solid-surface materials absorb little moisture and do not foster fungal or bacterial growth. These materials mimic the appearance and texture of expensive materials like granite, marble, and stone at a reduced cost.
Patient Rooms
It may appear that the design of a patient room is uncomplicated. However, planning and careful attention to detail are needed to design patient rooms. A patient room is a small space that must be functional, comfortable and safe. It is an important component of the overall design of your hospital or medical facility.
A functional layout for a patient room features:
- A closet that features space for personal storage for patients that includes a hanging rod and drawers.
- An adjustable light fixture that can provide focused lighting for the bed and the writing table
- An anchoring headwall that secures casework while protecting the integrity of the wall.
We design patient rooms with storage that takes into account the needs of nurses and patients alike. Nurse servers, which are built into the wall, provide nurses with the in-room storage needed for their day-to-day work. Nurse servers are outfitted with shelves and drawers that can be accessed from within a patient room, but stocked by staff from the outside. This design saves nurses time by preventing them from having to walk to central storage each time they need to access supplies.
Additionally, we strive to fight infection by sealing any exposed edges with durable PVC banding. Kick plates make it possible to apply sheet flooring directly to the face—resulting in a surface that is smooth and easy to clean.
Pharmacies
Nowadays, there is a greater demand than ever for supplies and medication, therefore making the most of available space in a pharmacy is crucial.
Pharmacy casework is unique to each pharmacy’s unique needs and dimensions . Modular casework’s plug-and-play components enable your pharmacy to adapt to changing circumstances and to expand as needed. Build a practical and attractive pharmacy by selecting from a selection of components:
- Keep everything at your fingertips with flat and gravity fed drawers in base cabinets and shelving.
- Removable drawer inserts and adjustable dividers make on the fly custom configurations a breeze.
- Upper shelves can be adjusted to five different positions with built in slots for flat retainers – to prevent products from falling.
We understand the importance of specialized finishes. Black phenolic resin work surfaces are ultra chemical resistant and help keep stray pills in sight. For whatever you need, there is a plug & play option — even a sink can be integrated into a pharmacy workstation.
Hospital casework is a large part of the overall hospital design process. It can make or break your patient experience. We help our clients create thoughtful designs that support their mission and goals for their facility. Reach out today to start a conversation.
